They describe the memory to the staff who work with a crew to film it and screen it at week's end; eternity follows. 22 dead arrive that week, assigned to three counselors and a trainee. One old man cannot find a memory, so he watches videotape of his life. Others pick their memory quickly, and the film crew gets right to work. The trainee, 18-year-old Shiori, helps a teenage girl choose a memory other than Disneyland. Tres años después, los familiares de los asesinos se reúnen como cada año en el lago donde vivían las víctimas, para conmemorar su muerte. Pero no podrán volver a la ciudad sin antes pasar por la casa, donde antaño sus parientes habían planeado los atentados. (FILMAFFINITY) Members of a cult, modeled on Aum Shinrikyo, sabotage a city's water supply, then commit mass suicide near the shores of a lake. Family members (the credited cast, minus Asano) of the perpetrators meet at the lake to observe the anniversary of their loved ones' deaths. They meet a former member of the cult (Asano), who had trained for the water sabotage attack but defected at the last minute. He leads them to the cabin he's currently holed up in, where he and the deceased cult members had trained for the attack, and they pass the night reminiscing about those they'd known and lost, shown cinematically through improvised dialogues and flashbacks. Sakata, the aforementioned surviving cult and last to see most of the departed alive, and Atsushi (Arata) interrogate one another about Yûko (played by actress/model Ryo), Atsushi's sister, whom Sakata had asked to run away with him the night before the attack. Su protagonista es un joven samurái, Sozaemon Aoki, que llega a Edo (la actual Tokio) con el propósito de vengar a su difunto padre. Busca al enemigo de su padre por toda Edo pero, aparte del hecho de que es un inútil en el manejo de la espada, tiene pocas ganas de seguir adelante con su misión. Alojado en una vivienda pobre, pero rica en relaciones humanas, Sozaemon empieza a apreciar la vida y a preguntarse por el sentido de la venganza. Set in 1702, Hana yori mo naho looks back a full three centuries to a time when samurai clans offered monetary rewards to the samurais who succeeded in taking on a revenge act. The central character is a young samurai, Sozaemon Aoki, who has come to Edo (now Tokyo) to avenge his late father. Although he searches the city for his father's enemy, he is hopeless with swordplay and reluctant to pursue his mission. Living in an Edo tenement, poverty-stricken but rich in human relationships, Sozaemon starts to cherish life and question the meaning of taking revenge.

Their son and daughter return for a rare family reunion, bringing their own families with them. They have gathered to commemorate the tragic death of the eldest son, who drowned in an accident fifteen years ago. Although the roomy house is as comforting and unchanging as the mother’s homemade feast, everyone in the family has subtly changed. This is a typical family, bonded by love as well as resentments and secrets. With a subtle balance of gentle humor and wistful sorrow, Kore-eda portrays just how precious and exactly how annoying family can be. (FILMAFFINITY)

She is the only.company of a lonely middle aged man. Everyday after work he talks to her, baths her and makes love to her but this routine is disturbed when out of a sudden she develops a soul and falls in love with a video store clerk called Junichi. As a newborn she is confused but she is fully aware of the world outside the limits of the flat. When she finally dares to exit into the real world she is fascinated by evreything she sees. She meets plenty of people but no-one capable of explaining the feeling of being alive.

(FILMAFFINITY) In his latest film the Japanese master Hirokazu Koreeda takes a close look at the world of childhood to tell the story of Koichi, a child who lives with his mother and grandparents in Kagoshima, in the South of the island of Kyushu. His little brother, Ryunosuke, lives with their father in Hakata, in the north of Kyushu. Their parents’ divorce has split them up, but all Koichi wants is to get back together with him. Hirokazu Koreeda (Tokio, 1962) Director de cine japonés graduado por la Universidad de Waseda. Koreeda había querido ser novelista, pero tras graduarse en la Universidad trabajó como asistente de dirección de documentales para TV Man Union. En 1991 dirigió su primera obra Lessons from a Calf (47') que trata sobre unos alumnos de una escuela primaria y una vaca llamada Lola. Con este modesto trabajo descubrió cuánto amaba el proceso de filmación: la espontánea representación de la vida.
Hirokazu Koreeda Born in Tokyo in 1962. Originally intended to be a novelist, but after graduating from Waseda University in 1987 went on to become an assistant director at T.V. Man Union. Snuck off set to film Lessons from a Calf (1991). His first feature, Maborosi (1995), based on a Teru Miyamoto novel and drawn from his own experiences while filming _August Without Him (1994)_, won jury prizes at Venice and Chicago.
